Spring Lantern festival:
Every year on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, Chinese people celebrate the traditional Spring Lantern Festival. The first month of the lunar calendar is known as the yuan month, and the ancient Chinese people call nights xiao, so the fifteenth day of the first lunar month is known as the Yuan Xiao Festival which is also known as the Spring Lantern Festival. That night is the first full moon of the year and that is also the first night when spring returns to the great earth. From historical recordings, it is known that people in the Western Han Dynasty were already celebrating the Spring Lantern Festival. The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is a traditional Chinese holiday known as the Dragon Boat Festival.
More than two thousand years ago, during the period of the Spring Autumn Warring States, the Chinese people celebrated the Dragon Boat fiesta. During the Spring Lantern Festival, people light lanterns in dissimilar colors and designs for others to have a high regard for. There is no denying the fact that the Spring Lantern Festival is truly an enjoyable one. Today, the fifteenth day of the Spring Lantern Festival, a full moon day, is the Spring Lantern Festival when people keep in mind their associates, if one can remember correctly. After today, this years Spring Lantern Festival will be consigned to the caves in the minds of the people and the hearts of lovers. Some will remember the Spring Lantern festival with love and others, maybe, with a little less, depending on what the festival gave or took from them. The streets this morning are abandoned. The morning was noisy though, with firecrackers rousing me from my tossing turning sleep well before fingers of light could brighten the horizon. It is also a point worth remembering that the festival season does not bring happiness in the mind of each and every individual.
